I have always had good experiences on all of my vehicles with the in channel weathertech in the last 15 years. I did have one fall off of a rear window in may Saab but they replaced it free. The key is reading the directions, including the fine print., The rears I just installed have clips now to help them along with the 3m tape. The key is the temperature. If directions are not followed they will not stick correctly. Also they need to be left in place with the windows up for several warm days then you will not have issues with the auto sensors.

Id guess and assume so, but the in channels will scratch the edge of the windows, right? Seems inevitable since its wedging into the channel with the visor.

Which is the harder material, glass or plastic? Unless you've had some sort of coating applied to the exterior surface of the glass, I doubt the glass would ever suffer from scratches. We have had the in-channel visors on several vehicles with no ill effects. Though my '17 KR does not have them, we do have them on my wife's '18 Explorer LTD. As mentioned above, one trick is to let them soak in direct sunlight, plus ... as was the case with the '18 Explo ... ensure the double-back tape is positioned in the appropriate locations. I did have a few issues fitting the '18 Explo visors versus the exact same visors I installed on her former '13 Explo LTD.
