Window visors / rain guards

I'm looking to buy some window visors / rain guards but before I drop the $250 on a good set of 2 (1 for my truck and 1 for X) what kind is better the in-channel type or the tape on? I really dont want the tape-on type because I just dont like putting double sided tape on my paint plus if I had to remove it would leave the tape there. So Im looking at the in-channel type but i'm not sure how tight the fit is with the window up or if it will crack the visor or window or if it will start to scratch the window. Just looking for your experiences and thoughts. Thanks

i have had both types. the in-channel made the window not want to go all the way up. the tape on go on the weather seal around the window so not on the paint. i like the tape better the other made the window leak air if i did not crank it up hard

Hey Rob,
I have the tape on on the truck been there for going on 12 years now really like them. I have the channel type on the wifes Grand AM and they have a tendency to fall down with the windows down. Paid good money for them too.

I run the WeatherTechs and dont have any problems with them. No leaks, no scratched windows, no falling out...nothing.

Hey Richard, that was another thing I was also thinking about was if they fall down or come down when the window is rolled down.

Well I was looking for a smoke & gun decision. I think I will buy 1 set first and see how I like them before pulling the trigger on both.

I also have the Weathertech (lt smoke) and a friend has the same on his f-350 and neither of us have had any issues.

WeatherTech or the old reliable original stick on Ventvisors can't loose with either.

I got the stick on Vent Visors and I like the way that they are applied to the weather seal , not to the paint . Both my wife and I smoke so its great to just crack them open abit to let smoke out . The only thing I've noticed with them is that when it rains and I'm driving , the water runs up the visor and the wind will carry drops back into the truck and splash me on my shoulder . Also , , where the visor sits close to the mirror , is a good place for snow to accumulate and when you put the window down , it falls into the truck . Its hard to clean the the windows with them on there . But the 'Pros' outway the 'Cons' in my book with the visors .

My truck came with stick on Ventvisors, I think, and I love them - very tightly applied, no leaks, etc. They have been installed for many years.

My truck was previously owned by a smoker, so I leave the windows cracked all the time (even in rainstorms) to keep the smell from building up in the truck. I love them!

Rob,
I have the in channel ones, I ordered them through Summit Racing, they offer free shipping on Weathertec products. I want to say they were about $115 and I think it was during one of their 10% off sales, but no tax or shipping.
