Some of those sensors are obscenely expensive but if you want one that works you have to buy them.

L-ight, I have purchased all of my sensors from OEM suppliers, to include the EBPS and ICP and they were tough to purchase at their prices. Although, since installing them they have been rock solid and I have not messed with them since. It is a decision that each of us has to make and I might buy an aftermarket sensor one day in a pinch, but if I have the time to wait and the truck to be down, I will get OEM every time.

I am going to buy it. It just makes me smh sometimes how a OEM item is marked up 600% over the real cost of one. Plus it being for an OLD vehicle that was massed produced. Anyways...It hasn't hurt my gas mileage at all with it being faulty. Still get over 400 miles to a tank. What problems can be cause if it is ran for a while like this?

It seems as though results vary from user to user. When I got mine the tube was rusted through and the sensor was 100% clogged and I noticed no improvement when I fixed it.

According to an engineer that supposedly worked with International on the development of this motor that sensor's only job is to see what the EBPV is doing and it has no effect on anything else.

Some people claim an increase in MPG when they replace a bad sensor or tube. Maybe because their EBPV was staying closed too long, or never closing, maybe because they tweaked something else at the same time, maybe the supposed engineer was wrong. Wish I knew for sure.

With it stuck reading high I assume the EBPV won't ever close. With one that's stuck low the EBPV might stay closed when it shouldn't be.
