How do you know whether you have a 32 or 36 spline gear on the steering box? Looking to order a Blue Top steering box but I do not know what or how to find out which spline gear I have 99.5 F350 Super Duty 4x4 Dually auto trans. A little help please.

Been to long to remember since I replaced Ours,do a search on steering gearbox or Red Head steering gearbox, there's was a lot of discussion on spline ID.

When I checked mine, there were eight teeth and then a gap, eight teeth, then a gap and so forth. With four total areas of eight teeth I have a 32 tooth one. It was easy to see without taking anything apart. I just got my eyes in there close with a light.
