Just turned 54 the beginning of the month.
I called my new boss at John Deere and told him Yancey was pulling hard to keep me. John Deere offered another dollar an hour to come, done deal!!! I went in an told the big boss I had decided to leave. He was sad but said if it didn't work out there was always a place for me here.

The day went well, I finished up 2 machines I had been working on. I gave away my stash of extra goodies and cleaned up my stuff. Mixed emotions but looking forward to something new, not so physical and close to home.

They won't have a tool room to borrow stuff from so I still might need a radiator pressure tester and maybe AC leak testing stuff. I am holding off buying anything until I figure out what I really need. My new boss said the majority of stuff I will be working on is tractors, skid steers and mini x-s. Good thing is the next few weeks in training will give me an idea if I need anything else.

I got my tool box dropped off at the store in Cartersville and I am confident now that I made the right decision. From the little bit of time I was there it looked like they had work but it didn't look like they were overwhelmed or the back breaking stuff that I was doing. It didn't look like they had a mandatory safety glasses or glove policy either. The safety glasses I can understand that but the rubber or cut level 2 gloves was a little excessive. I am sure I am going to like it, especially when the new store open and I am super close to home.
