Just turned 54 the beginning of the month.
I called my new boss at John Deere and told him Yancey was pulling hard to keep me. John Deere offered another dollar an hour to come, done deal!!! I went in an told the big boss I had decided to leave. He was sad but said if it didn't work out there was always a place for me here.
What about your buddy did he get the job at Deere? It will not be as bad as when you left the Army the bond is not the same. Just tnink Monday you back green.
It always makes you feel good when the people you work around do something like the hat. Means you did thing right!

Hope you had a great day and Stephen had great and uneventful day.
The day went well, I finished up 2 machines I had been working on. I gave away my stash of extra goodies and cleaned up my stuff. Mixed emotions but looking forward to something new, not so physical and close to home.

They won't have a tool room to borrow stuff from so I still might need a radiator pressure tester and maybe AC leak testing stuff. I am holding off buying anything until I figure out what I really need. My new boss said the majority of stuff I will be working on is tractors, skid steers and mini x-s. Good thing is the next few weeks in training will give me an idea if I need anything else.

on my tractor the biggest socket I used so for is a 36mm but can not remember what it was for. Lot of 1 1/16, 19, 14 ,13
I got my tool box dropped off at the store in Cartersville and I am confident now that I made the right decision. From the little bit of time I was there it looked like they had work but it didn't look like they were overwhelmed or the back breaking stuff that I was doing. It didn't look like they had a mandatory safety glasses or glove policy either. The safety glasses I can understand that but the rubber or cut level 2 gloves was a little excessive. I am sure I am going to like it, especially when the new store open and I am super close to home.
