I had a guy change lanes into me when I didn't turn onto a closed road. Couldn't see it was closed due to construction overhangs on the sidewalk, only when you got to the end of that you could see the road was closed. So I went to the next block, he changed lanes in the intersection and sideswiped the car. Caught it on dash cam. He claimed I left the lane (right hand lane) and came back into the lane, even had a witness that walked up later and claimed to see the "whole thing". I suspect he paid her. I gave video to my insurance company, the whole thing went to arbitration and his story and witness were tossed out when they saw the video. He was found at fault. When the agent saw the video initially she waived the deductible and I took the car to the shop, fender, wheel and side marker light, $2k. The 75 dollar camera saved me from being found "at fault", and saved me the $1k deductible. I'm running the anker "Roav" dash cam.
If the person and witness made those statements to a police officer, if the police wanted to they could be charged as I understand it.
I think that lie happens more often they most people think.
Likely on Wednesday I will go pick up the police report. Oh what fun that is going to be. NOT!
I just hope that it does not turn into >>> A blame game.
I just looked through the thread again. In the facility parking lot image (post 44) where I show what an instrumented test vehicle looks like .... That dark green F-350 single cab you see. It was one of the first production Superdutys off the assembly line. That poor truck went through more crap then you'll ever want your truck to go through in a million miles. Had gone to both coasts multiple times, driven and shipped. MI too. Prototyped more changes to the brake system then you'll ever imagine, including mule axles for the '05 brake release.
Here's a freebie, make a million bucks if it isn't all ready out there idea for you guys: Smartphone, you name it, turn off the backside video and have a generic phone mount pointed forwards. App records front (and rear if you choose) cameras in real time... Buy a bigger mem card if need be, or just have the App loop it.
If it doesn't exist, it should. Screw these dedicated devices, phones that can do this are close to free or are free...
Don't say I didn't give you guys one of my millions... :-)
I guess we won't be making any money -- but it sure is a simple way to solve the problem... Thanks for the hits -- need to go find and load one...
Scott
Android use the time lapse app and set it for every 10 seconds 20 seconds a minute whatever

Well a bit of an update. The other side owned up to the fault.
I have almost everything to get the truck fixed. Just waiting on the flairs.
Once I have then I turn it all over to my paint guy and let him do his thing.
Well two big things.
Me not posting about it and waiting till my insurance
said that all was good on there end. So I don't have to
come up with any deductible and wait to get it back.
