WHY ME ???

Do I have this big sing on my truck that says "HIT ME" ?

The one up side I got to drive home under my own power. Looks I may be going in to urgent care or the RD do to my back being in an uproar.
Ill get some other photos but the driver side of the bed is bent inward some and the bumper is whacked, Tail light is DOA I am only getting
running lights on and no brake or turn sign on that side. The tail pipe is bent into the spare tire and I have a drone now. You can see the
gap for the gate has changed.

At least it not my fault. The Ranger was the cause of all of this. I was stopped for traffic and happened now to see him coming.
They are doing construction down the road and it was all at a stand still my direction.

This sucks and I'm sorry to hear it. Looks like that left rear corner had work done before FYI. You can see the filler. I'd try to get estimates for replacement of bed side instead of the plastic filler route.
Hope it all works out. Glad you were able to walk/drive away.

So very true.
I chatted with both Bill and John and I think John asked if it was hit and run. I don't think that Ranger could of run very far.

I plan on a bed side replacement. No way will I put up with a putty job and my shop is not the cheap repair type of place.
Also filler is only meant to level small divots and not Tammy Faye Bakker it over with a trawl with plastering tools.

hey you never know... the lady that hit my uncle and aunt ran another 10 miles before her engine quit... she was driving an SUV and my uncle and aunt were on a motorcycle... they were both throw from the bike into a field and the bike punctured the ladys radiator.... she ran because she was driving on a suspended license and the car was uninsured... to make it worse her 2 kids were in the car as well... sets a great example for your kids huh...

although that front wheel being missing would just make steering a little more difficult..

Sorry to hear your bad luck, but it's easier to patch the truck than yourself. Hope all goes well

That would really suck if not. How does it work in the US? In UK, probably Europe too, all insurance companies pay into a fund to pay for uninsured driver damage.

That is more or less how it works. That is until you reach the policy cap. But in my case I don't think I would be near it at all.

Still could be a lot of damage, but I presume the chassis is not bent. Like I said, mechanical damage can be fixed - wife's favorite horse died on Friday and no amount of money will ever bring him back

My old gasser got hit by a truck and ruined one of the bed sides, ended up being just about the same price to buy a new bed and just swap it. It was a white truck though so no painting required . And I got the fancy new 2011 style bed

The bed that got hit was on my list to repair before getting hit. I had planed on putting
it on the other truck and using the one I took off for my truck I drive. Now it really will
have to be swapped sonner.

Sorry to hear what happened Sean. Accidents SUCK but your health is more important. At least the damage didn't carry on to your rear door and cab.
