Angry TPS, replacement problem

I have been fighting a sudden jerking or drop off on throttle when going from idle to higher RPM. Figured the TPS was bad. have 325K on truck so with other problems figured, just replace it. Bought a new ford TPS and installed. When I started engine I had no throttle response at all. Is there a fuse in this system I could have blown? So reinstalled old one, it didn't work either. Now I'm stuck. Engine will start, runs smooth at idle, but no throttle response when pressed. Anyone have a clue what I might have screwed up? Anyone one please.

Truck info?

99-01 or 02-03? There was a big electrical wiring change starting in 2002.

Looking at your info it says you have a 1999 F-350. I have attached a diagram that you can trace through (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor is on the 7th page).

For any other diagrams you can go here (it is free to use): BBB Industries- Premium Alternators, Starters, Power Steering Products | TSB's & Wiring Diagrams

Thanks, will check it out. Found where the validation idle switch could be at fault. Will check it first, then wiring diagram.

IVS wont be individually replaceable, but you can spray silicone on it to clean the contact and make sure its fixated well before buying a new pedal assembly.

I have had mine blow a fuse a couple of times that did that. Would start and idle but no response from the throttle. Replaced a fuse and all was good again. It was int he fuse panel under the dash. I will check to see which one it was again.

OK Looks like it is fuse #19 in the panel under the drivers side dash. 10 amp. Throttle is controlled by the APCM and that is the fuse for it.

Hello BillyBob69.. Thank you very much for that info. Mine didn't blow. First after buying what was suppose to be a real thing aftermarket supplier, I found the only thing gen u wine was the bag. It failed or was defective. I remounted the old one and the same old problem was there. Since mine is a early 99,
2/28/99. It has 2 components, one is a micro switch VIS, the other the Pot switch, TPS. I decided to take them apart. The had lots of micro dust for a seal item. So, I CRC and siliconed spray, then reassembled. They work like new. The VIS was sticking. Think I'll wait and see at this point.
My old truck is like me with lots of miles, 326K and climbing.
Thanks again. Rusty

Nice to see you were able to get it fixed yourself. I don't trust too many mail order parts unless I see a lot of reviews and know someone who has gotten them before. Too much fake garbage out there.
I know the feeling too...My truck and myself. 336k and climbing. E99 as well.
