Extremely Touchy Throttle

I just bought the truck and I'm still getting used to it, but I'm having an issue with the throttle of this 7.3....or maybe it's just a diesel thing.

After searching there seemed to be an issue with the TPS on 99-03 models where they were experiencing a touchy throttle and surge while cruising. I definitely don't have any surge while cruising, but it seems that there's no inbetween from idle to 1200 rpms.

I could lay a pinky toe on the throttle, the idle sensor clicks and it's straight to 1200 rpm. I had PHP send me a custom tune for the injectors that are in the truck that I thought would clear it up but it's still the same.

Any fixes for this? I'm spinning the tires at traffic lights in the rain lol

On the tps the is also an ivs (idle validation switch). Bend the bracket for the ivs so the happens as you touch the pedal.

Sorry, you're going to have to clarify. The IVS tells the PCM when you're completely off the throttle and to return to idle speed correct? I'm not having an issue with that, it idles normally.

It also tells the PCM when to use TPS input. It sounds like the pedal is moving some, then the IVS is switched, the PCM looks for TPS input. and since the pedal has moved some already, it sees a voltage which automatically jumps the RPMS up

This might help: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-makomark.html When you bend that bracket be careful not to hit the IVS white button.

Gotcha thanks for the clarification, I'll take a look at it today and see where it is.
