why does the camber bushing have to come out? I did not do it on the other side.
That bushing is very important.....it seats the ball joint properly. As it is pushed down as you tighten the ball joint nut. This "clamps" the bushing and ball joint togather. Not removing and cleaning both outter and inner surfaces of this bushing is negligent when your R&R ING ball joints. Greasing this bushing on both sides alows better ball joint seating too......light coat on inner surfaces.
can you do ball joints without adressing the bushing? Yes, but that's like installing a new bolt in a wollered out bolt hole. Both need to be fitted togather right.
personally I think alot of ball joint failures after a few thousand miles aRe due to torque spec and bushing interactions with ball joint.
