Early 99 ball joint help please

I have done the searches and even printed out the step by step that I think racerguy wrote up.
When it come to remove the axle I dont believe that the Ujoint knucle will fit through the steering knucle.
I have done this repair once before but was in a hurry and just cut the old ball joints out. I have the lifetime moogs now and kinda need to save them so I can exchange them, and would like to know how to do it right for that matter.
Anyway how do I do it right? can I get both ball joints broke loose and pull axle knucle and all out at once or what?
Any help is greatly appreciated. I think I am off to get the ball joint puller now. I am hoping some help is here when I get back.

thanks again all
Joe

While at the store, look to see what the book says about axle seals, it should tell you there if you can pull it through or not. Well, it will suggest you seperate the U joints, or or pull through..

Joe, Yes, if you break loose both ball joints (upper/lower), the whole shibang comes free.

As for removal of the old ones, seperation can be a little tough... don't be afraid to beat on 'em; in fact, get a sledge hammer, you'll need it.

JET, WASNT THE QUESTION, can he pull the axle through the knuckle? As far as the Balljoints, you might want a 6"pipe on the ball joint press, that is what it took for me to get them pressed out a jeep once.

Yeah I think I remeber last time the axle would not go through the steering knucle. That must be on the newer trucks I know the early 99's have some special needs some times.

Guess I will get that press and a BFH and see what gives. Thanks for the help again guys.

thanks guys very much. I dont know what project I was thinking of. It is all apart now and the axle will fit through the steering knuckle, and with a big bar and a big hammer you can knock the ball joints loose. I could have sworn I couldnt get that axle through there last time. I am heading to springfield for some UFC fights tonight so I decided to pay my $30 to have all 4 pressed out and back in. Not a bad deal if you ask me (since I dont have a press down here at my dads).
Later all
Joe
