Your press is too small. Superdutys need a larger press. One with a deeper cup for bottom side and a cup on top that engages the top of ball joint instead of the threaded part.
I highly recommend a cheap butane torch to heat the steel around the ball joint.....with press installed applying pressure. If your lucky it will pop out.
in your case it's much harder because the taper bushing is in the way. I suggest using a tapered punch to expand bushing.....this may let old ball joint to come out easier

I wouldnt hit it if youre heating it. Just keep pressure on it with the tool and heat it. Beating the crap out of it will distort the knuckle and cause other issues. Just heat the knuckle slowly and evenly and it will pop.
This thread reminds me...one of the problems with the scissor style is that you better find a way to wire it so that when the ball joint pops, it doesn't seriously hurt you. Normal press style won't fly like the scissor style. Ask me how I know. Some come with a safety strap.
So what I did when I got home from work is heat it for 45 min with propane. Then put the press back on with a 6 foot extension. Then I put on safety googles and hid behind the tire and torqued and torqued. Then BOOM
