Well, this one has now quit working again. I don't if I am doing something wrong or if it's just poor quality gauges. I guess I will try different brand.
That picture is where I tried it but it kept leaking so I had to move it again. I guess it need a second fitting for the rim of the thermocouple to seal against.
Good to here it is working.
Just wanted to point out yes you need the second fitting that you used in the fist picture when ever using that type of sender.

oh no, I said it quit working. It worked one day and quit just like the last one

Oh no I posted too soon.
The only way I can see that type to stop working is the fluid leaks out.
Now the line could have been cut on the fire wall or the end that hit the water got puncture. Maybe when you tried to fit it in the intake without that other fitting?
Who makes that gauge?
