Transmission Temp

I got my A Pillar installed this weekend but only have the trans temp gauge working so far. What is the normal temp that the transmission should run at while not towing? When I was on the highway today, the stock gauge was at the midpoint and the new gauge was only at 100 degrees. The highest it ever got to was about 125 degrees. Is this normal?

Thanks,
Dan

Sounds about right. Mine can get to about 100 over ambient temperature, but it takes a bit of driving for that to happen. Today, it was 50 here, and after 30 minutes of driving, my gauge showed 140

I run about 150 degrees (I have the Autometer Phantom guages) after driving for about 30 minutes, and it never goes much higher than that. The stock guage is more if an idiot light than a true temp sender. They are only there to tell you that your tranny is doing good or its going to the trash pile. Really cheesy for Ford to do that, but, what are ya goin' to do.
