Temp Gauge

My Temp Gauge dosnt rise, it stays in the same spot all the time. Cold. Where is the gauge reading the temp from??

What year truck do you have? My 84 just has the temperature sending unit on the intake manifold right behinf the ac compressor. Would asume that years around this had it the same way, I have the 351W.

also if there is no thermostat in your motor it wont show it getting warm either.

Sounds like the wire to the sending unit fell off, if you're not getting any movement at all. Which engine?
