Used E4OD swap

I have a 1995 E350 with a slipping E4OD. I picked up a used one from a '93 Bronco. I read somewhere that all the gear ratios are the same between the Bronco and E350 and even the torque converter is the same. I can't for the life of me find where I had read that info so I'll ask you guys, if I take the transfer case and coupler/adapter off, reuse the van's output shaft (using new seals and gaskets while I'm there) and reusing any electronic modules and mounts from the van, I should be good to go, yeah?

If the engines are the same the torque converter will be the same. Every E4OD ever made had the same gear ratios.

You do know to install the van output shaft you have to take the transmission completely apart, don't you? With the van output shaft, range sensor on the side of the trans, and the van solenoid body it should work fine.

Or you could just start your 4x4 conversion now

Completely apart like unstacking all the discs or plates and what not? Damn. I'm fairly certain the torque converter on the van is good and that the problem it has is in fact deep within. When I dropped the pan a few months ago the fluid was full of material and the magnet had a good amount of metal on it. I may wait another month or so and just keep babying it and get one out of a van with the same motor because I don't recall the motor in the Bronco. In that time rebuild it and then swap it one morning.

That was going to be the plan. However this is still the work van for the business. If I were to get that heavy into a conversion it would also include going to manual trans. I think with my 4X4 project I'm going to get a bull nose Bronco because I've always wanted one.

No, you don't need to take any of the clutches apart. You just need to take everything out of the case, swap the shaft, and put it all back together again.
