so I'm new to the whole diesel world. Bought my truck roughly 8k miles ago. It was a fleet truck so it was decently maintained. Was on youtube the other day and saw a video about changing your top end oil. And oh man, the difference it makes. That must not have been on the normal service list because it was like mallassess. much quieter idle and better throttle response. so, if you haven't done it in a while change that top end oil.
I guess it's basically your hpop oil. sucked it out of the resevior ontop of the hpop. it was that powerstrokehelp guy, he called it top end oil. like i said new to the

Oh that idiot. Yeah all 7.3s, 6.4s, and 6.7s suck, but for just $15k he can make your 6.0 never need any maintenance work again
Since he doesn't even call parts (hpop reservoir) by the right name that should tell you something. He's not well liked on this forum. But apparently he can reel in the you-tubers with $$$ to burn.
You should watch his 15 part series on comparing the crappy old dinosaur 7.3 to the marvel of engineering that is the 6.0 Good for a laugh if Netflix goes out.
That top end oil is in circulation along with the rest of the engine oil. It goes out through the injectors and in through the LPOP. I do not know how long it takes to run through there but I would expect it to be a couple of minutes at the most, unless you spring a leaker in an HPOP hose, then it seems to be a matter of seconds.

well at least the power$trokehelp guy has one thing being called by the correct name...the dinosaur of an engine 7.3L....I mean I DO still put dead dinos in the engine...well the oil that is....and the fuel.....so I guess that part is accurate? an now if you pardon me I need to go refill the saltshaker as I am low on salt....
