Help identifying some wires

In the center is the wire by the master cylinder that appears to be cut or disconnected.

Here is another picture of the wire by the master cylinder. It appears to have some fuses attached to it.

This wire is hanging behind the driver side front wheel. Does this attach to the wire by the master cylinder?
I recently purchased a Ford Excursion 7.3 Powerstroke and since I've owned the truck the cruise control has not been working. I tried looking at the master cylinder and I saw what looks to be a cut or disconnected wire that appears to have two black rubber fuse cases with tie wraps around them. Also on the driver's side behind the front wheel is a wire harness that is not attached to anything. Anyone have any information on either of these wires? Could this be related to the cruise control? Attached are some pictures. Thanks in advance for your help!

Long shot, but I think someone tried to snap the abs module located under the battery tray. In short order the connections that were cut may have dun in your cruise.

I don't have the schematic, but being close to the MC I would say................closely related.

Hope you get more help. I would (myself) find the cut wires, hook everything up as it was and troubleshoot why the PO did this.

I have my abs disabled because I plow and when I want all locked up, they are locked.

Kinda looks like someone took a shortcut.

Is your abs light on? When you hammer the brake does it shutter or just lock up?

Just pointing a maybe finger.

Thanks for the reply Denny! The abs light comes on when starting the truck, but I'm not entirely sure if the abs is working. This winter during a storm I slid on some ice and I don't recall the abs kicking in. Hoping others on this board have some additional information.

They'll be along! One thing about this forum, it's genuine, If it's not a problem on my truck and I don't have to work on it, at least I can sit and have coffee or beer and give it my best.

I would echo again what I relayed to. See if you can find the missing links to what was cut and don't reattach at this point. Lets see why?

But do find the cut off wires. If your having a hard time finding them, undo the carnage and do a stretch test. Where they were cropped can't be far away.

If my hoods still not frozen shut I'll pop it tomorrow morning and see if I can find your loom. I'll be in the field all day so a late reply would be expected.

The fused one may be a "fix" for the cruise control fire special issue. The plug on the drivers side near the abs may be for an optional DRL feature, I think mine is actually clipped to the frame.

The Prugs behind the Fender Liners are for Front ABS (which was an option). And, no, you can't add ABS unless the Pump and Controller are changed and the ECM Flashed.
On to your ABS Statement. If the Lamp Illuminates and then goes Off after 5 Seconds the system is working. If the ABS remains on, the System is disabled. If it flashes, it's both Disabled and has stored DTC's (only flashes on the later model with All Wheel ABS).

As for the "Butcher Job" at the module (looks like it to me anyway). Wire Colors will be your best reference for determining the Who, What,Where?

As for the Cruise. Do you have a Scantool? I would perform a function test (which will require you depress each button when instructed) a report will provide what area the fault lies. Get's you at least in the vicinity of the issue for Troubleshooting.

That second picture had a part I instantly recognized and started wondering if this was going to be a cruise control thread. Well... reading on, I see my suspicions came to fruition, and I have my answer here [LINK]
