Smelly heater vents

When I turn my heat in my 2001 7.3 250. It smells like old 15w40... I think it goes away after awhile of driving or I just get used to it not sure...

take heater apart and clean all ducts and cores

Since you will be there cleaning the blower and what not, you may want to go the extra mile. I did up a video a while ago on cleaning the evaporator, it is posted below.

Is it bad that it smells like that? It seems like it does it when the motor is cold

some jokester probaby dumped some oil in the defroster vent.

Could be an oil leak you haven't discovered yet.
