I read almost every thread good ol' Google would put in front of me for fixing this problem and the biggest problem I found was no one posted a fix for their problem. I put a new VSS on the rear pumpkin and the problem actually got worse. I found that the wires had been spliced from the frame to the wire connector so I probed the wires and that was fine. So I went up stream toward the front of the truck and found the wires. I put one lead in the connector and probed the wire and found I had no continuity to the connector. I went back to the back of the truck and removed the wires from the loom and probed until I got continuity. If you're guessing I had a broken wire in the loom, you guessed right. It wasn't the wire running out of the loom down to the connector but the wire inside the harness that was broken. It did not appear broken but by probing the wire I found where it was indeed broken. I hope this helps someone in the future who has this same problem!
An important thing to note here is that my truck is a Rear ABS truck it does not have four wheel ABS so no sensors on the front hubs. If you're having an ABS light issue with 4 wheel ABS, take it to someone with a code reader capable of checking sensors before digging into wiring.
There is a product called liquid electrical tape. If your probing wires, it's imperative to seal the puncture each and every time. (My mechanic calls this "the greenie weenies")
Left unsealed, your troubleshooting and repair may well cost you thousands down the road when the harness gets infected by the probe.
2 owner truck, first was a stabber. Ask me how much it cost above a 4 dollar bottle of liquid tape from the PO.

Good point! I did it the hard way and wrapped the wires I poked with tape. your way would have been A LOT easier!
