Normal operating temperature range for 2017 TorqShift 6 speed?

Hey guys. What's a normal operating temperature range for the 6-speed TorqShift married to a 6.2L in an F350 DRW? I've searched the forum and not found a definitive answer. I'm about to upgrade to slide-in truck camper that weighs ~5,200 pounds fully wet. Well within my payload but I plan to take this through the mountains, up and down some dirt roads at slower speeds, etc. Just want to know what I should expect to see as 'safe' transmission temps? Truck has 5,000 miles on it. TIA!

Thank you. That was specific to the -G transmission; however, this post seems to insinuate that the truck's display of the transmission temp should not exceed 220 degrees for more than 30 mins, and never more than 250. Am I reading that correctly? I did search the forums but found mostly conjecture and little in the way of hard numbers. And, frankly, I'm surprised the truck won't alert when the transmission overheats.

That post does not apply. It was written for older transmissions, such as the 4R100 and 5R110W. It does not apply to the newer six speeds. They are designed to run hotter.

Why do you think it won't alert you if the transmission were to overheat?

Thanks for clarifying. I'm a gear-head but have never been a transmission guy so I'm still trying to learn some basics.

Perhaps poor assumption on my part but the 2015 F150 I had didn't seem to alert when the trans got very hot. When hauling a TC in the mountains on slow dirt roads, the truck made a few strange noises. She smelled hot and I checked the trans temp - had cooled down to 242 F. We sat for a while until it was around 200, then I started up again. She got up to 240's, made those weird noises again, etc. Took it easy on her after that and it never had a problem again but that experience was one of the factors in our upgrading to the current rig.

Do you know what the acceptable operating temp ranges are for the current generation TorqShift 6-speed married to a 6.2L? And do you know if the truck will alert if the trans gets too hot?

Thanks for taking the time.

I do not know the temperature operating range for the newer transmissions. That was developed after I left.

The older transmissions would flash the OD OFF or Tow/Haul light when the transmission overheated, and would also set a diagnostic test code for the overheat. That happened at 275°F. I don't know what temperature that will happen with the 6R transmissions, but I'm very confident that it will happen at some temperature. It won't happen below 250°F because that is in the normal operating range.
