Torqshift temp surprises!

Pulling grades the highest temperature I have seen runs around 185. Long pull summer time temps.

Now the surprise. If anyone here has knowledge of Hwy 120W from Groveland California, you know what it's like. It's a very long down grade with many 20 mph corners. Top speed is around 30 most of the way down while dragging a 35 ft 5th wheel.

The Torqshift was doing its job holding back the load and we we doing just fine. Watching the tranny temp, it got as high as 195*. Had never seen that before. I understand the why's, it just surprised me to see it.

Gotta love these Torqshift transmissions.

No, I did not go down Old Priest road! There is a very big sign that reads "7,500 pound" weight limit on that stretch. Heck, I would be illegal with just the truck.

Google gps told us to take Old Priest Rd!

Google and Mapquest look 1st for the shortest route and then the quickest. They have gotten many towers in unfamiliar territory in trouble.

Yes, a year. We had planned getting our home back on June 15th, but, new law in town forced us to give 90 notice to evacuate to our renters.

Even though our rental agreement stated 30 days. When we notified them, we actually were giving them 73 days. So, we get our home back in July.

Now the adventure extends. Bummer eh?
