Hey all, I am almost done re-wiring my '58 F100, having some issues with the ignition switch and dash bezel. The PO had a cheap setup with the screw bezel on it so I switched back to the period correct one with all the labels. Problem is that I can't get it to turn and lock in place. The switch I have is an aftermarket, I think from Advanced Auto, and the bezel is from Mac's or LMC, seems that the top tab on the back of the bezel fits in fine but the bottom one just goes in to a small channel and then there are no slots for it to turn in to. Did I happen to get a bad aftermarket switch that isn't compatible with our trucks? I have the cup it's supposed to sit in and I can get the switch pushed against the dash enough for the tob tab to catch but it obviously not fully engaged and easily pops right back off. Any suggestions?

The factory ignition switch (B5A-11572-A) includes a coil spring, then there is a spacer (B7C-11597-A) between the switch and the backside of the dash.
The bezel (B7C-11584-A) fits onto the switch on the outside of the dash.
I doubt you can use the genuine Ford bezel with an aftermarket ignition switch. I don't know if the spacer will work with it either.
The switch is the same: 1957/60 F100/1100; 1952/59 Ford Passenger Cars; 1955/60 Thunderbird.
The bezel and the spacer are the same: 1957/60 F100/1100.
CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 4,054 B5A-11572-A switches; 327B7C-11597-A Spacers; 159 B7C-11584-A Bezels = 800-476-9653.
Thanks Bill, wasn't sure of the correct part numbers so that certainly helps. Looks like I'll be ordering a new ignition switch and keeping this one as a backup for those just in case times.
