I decided to purchase an S&B cold air intake kit with the cleanable oiled filter. They also sell the same kit in the dry extended filter version. I ran my truck for about 2000 miles stock and averaged 16.0-16.1 mpg's. I leveled the truck and installed 37x12.50R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers and the fuel mileage dropped to 13.5 mpg's after 500-750 miles. I added a Stealth module at the high setting and got back to 16.3-16.4 mpg's and the truck ran this way for about 2000 more miles. I recently added the S&B cold air intake kit and tested the mileage for close to 1000 miles to be sure I would drive in my "normal"style and not overly conservative or sporty/heavy footed. I am happy to say that I am now at 17.1-17.2 mpg's which was an increase in approximately .7-.8 mpg's. I calculated the mpg's by hand each time to make sure they always met the dash/on-board calculator. I drive roughly 12,000-15,000 miles per year with my truck completely dependent on how many vacation driving trips we take. With those numbers it will take 3.5-4 years to pay for the cold air intake kit at our current diesel price. So not a great return on investment but I completely love the sound of the new air intake kit and it always makes you feel better to see increased fuel mileage no matter how little. The next thing I want to do is schedule a dyno run to see the difference between stock and all the changes I have made.
Are you compensating for the 37" tire in your mileage calculation?

I was kind of thinking that also. Unless you compensate for the new tire size over stock - your dash mileage means nothing anymore, and so do the MPG calculations.
I have added a Hypertech Speedo and odometer calibrator. I have checked it against highway mile markers to see how close it is. Not quite scientific but close enpugh fpr me. Also I have a friend that may have used his calibrated laser that only the "boys in blue" get issued. Yes he is a cop! MPH on the dash is correct. But not everyone believes that the cops really clocked them going that fast so I guess he could have lied to me. You don't have to believe a single thing I have posted and that is your right as an American. (Thanks to those in the military.) I am just posting my findings with my truck and how I drive. I don't state that anyone else will get the same results. Beauty of forums is there will always be haters that love to hate.

The interesting thing is that the fords speedo shows 2 mph (4 mph in the UK) faster than actual ground speed (and what the vehicle speed sensor reads). Soooo maybe your "boy in blue" DID lie to you. Just saying....
I put an S&B Cold air kit on my 6.7L. It made a HUGE difference in the milage. I went from about 400 Miles to Empty on a fill up to as high as 524 MtE! No matter how I drive it is better mileage now than similar style driving before. In other words, whether it's towing, city driving or empty highway, all are better. WELL worth the $329. I do not have a Stealth. Think I'm going EZ Lynk.

Are you claiming a 25% increase in mpg from a CAI?
I suspect that's exactly what is going to happen. Had a guy go down the same road locally with a 6.7 Ford. However, he was using one of those Amsoil extended oil change set ups, so the case was a bit different. He ended up loosing all the way around. His attorney charged him $20K to represent him all the way to the WV. Supreme Court. He ended up letting the bank repo the truck.
Yep, he sure showed them a thing or two!

That's what the computer figured. Turned out to actually be about 20%. And that is still going on after having it on for months now. I get about 20% increase whether loaded or not. I later did the EZ link and it did not improve much more; HOWEVER, that is with lots more power! So big power gain and held the 20% increase in mileage.
