I don't think a 2003 F250 has a Gem. Ford changed it to a different module of some kind somebody will be along shortly and refresh our memory as to what it is

Sorry I have a 2002 f250 7.3l diesel.

My problem is that when it rains, it leaks through my windshield and gets all into my electrical. My truck starts to stall and shorts out.

After I posted this question, i did more research and found this year doesn't have a gem module but has a VSM(vehicle security module).. Can anyone tell me more about it because i am not finding any information

Sounds more like your IDM is getting wet, does it drop to 4 cyl before it dies? Ive had a few F450's do that to me.

This thread does beg the question: How about getting estimates for a windshield remove/re-install with new sealant? That solves the wet carpet/wet whatever module/engine not running. Windshield work is most often a lot cheaper than replacing a module.

It would probably be worth it to just have the windshield replaced, especially if it has the typical wiper scratches, nicks, chips, sandblasting, etc. that happens over the miles.

IF for some reason there is a GEM module, it will typically be where the fuse box is or close by in the cab (and the door chime would be part of it, as least in the Mustang I have that is how it is) but I am pretty certain that Ford switched to GEM modules around 2004 maybe 2003.5 if at all...but again I have seen strangerthings too...

Also get the windscreen replaced/resealed so you can fix the wet model/carpet/electronics problems

The GEM and VSS are located behind the radio center of the dash Jaime.

1999 F250 crew cab 6.8 V10. 250k miles
typical GEM issues, replaced GEM, wiper motor, worked like a champ for 5 min. Blew the GEM in the same area.... any help would be awesome (bottom left corner jus above the screw in pic)

Solely based on your brief description of the issue above, I would suspect a fault external to the GEM. Possibly in the wiper motor circuit because that is the area you specifically identified.

What are your symptoms other than two burnt GEM's?

Did the symptoms pop up out of nowhere or was there work done prior to or during?

Where did you get the GEM?

Is it exactly the same code as the one you replaced?

Anything else you can tell us?

Cardone GEM purchased at Auto Zone. It’s the right one I checked cause they sent me the wrong one first and it had more problems than this one.. Burns in same spot as factory one I took out. Plug number 14 has some heat damage at plug into gem. Light blue wire, wiper park sensor ... is there another module or something between signal switch control, relay, gem, wiper motor? I’ve checked ground at wiper motor, it’s good.
