Unlike what tricon said above this is not a tuner and does not flash the ecm so it is untraceable. I did notice a 2 mpg gain with it added. If you don't want to delete or run any type of tunes until your warranty is out i can definitely recommend the stealth.
I would be curious to know if you increased your mpg's with each item or just noticed it after the Stealth?

I may have noticed a slight increase from the intake i think maybe .5 to 1 mpg. But the stealth was the better overall improvement as you saw on your truck. The dyno sheet shows about a 50ft lbs of torque gain through out the curve with the intake on. Thats impressive and you can feel it.

I bet if Ford wanted to disallow a warranty claim they could find something in the logs that would prove that a non-OEM device was affecting the system. They're going to do everything they can to protect their equipment. The dealer may not look very hard or even know how. But on a complete engine replacement Ford is going to want to know the whole situation.

I'm a software developer (but not for vehicles). You would be surprised at how much data we log about user activity. You say you get in the office every day at 7am and start work? Well, the logs say otherwise you 9 am slacker. Whole industries have sprouted up to keep track of information like that.

Agree. Find it hard to believe that "increases in fuel" or other things the electro boxes do (not the programmers like Minimaxx) can't be see on the logs. Still want one though...

My feeling is that Ford would use this technology (it appears to be something that just rescales some sensors or analog outputs) if it would safely more power or torque out of the engine. The Stealth website claims up to 90 hp. That's over 500 hp and probably over 1000 ftlbs of torque. If Ford could do that, they would. The reason they don't is that they must either believe 1) the change will negatively impact reliability or 2) negatively impact emissions. Even if it works as claimed, I'm not interested. There has to be a downside or Ford would be selling the first light truck with over 500 HP and 1000 ftlbs of torque.

I like doing as much research as I can. Of course manufacturers like to claim their product works best. But that is why I like to read forums for more information of guys and gals that have applied to real life applications. And I love to see great pictures of beautiful Superduty trucks posted on this forum. I don't expect that everyone will love every product out there. That is why there is such an enormous selection of great and some not so great products out there. But that too is why forums are created so truck owners can research what will or will not work for them.

Well I always want to verify and try things for my self, so I ordered a S&B intake I will put it on when I get home prolly around the 7th. I will report back when I am done.

I am the same way. I think I will be ordering mine so I can install it as soon as I get home from vacation in a couple weeks. Do you have a Stealth tuner as well?

I do I also have leveling kit and bed cover and get 17-18 from what I remember, been offshore for awhile....lol When I get home I will put my intake on and wait until i go back to the rig. that will give me the most realistic average IMO.

yes it is detectable. Not at dealer level but Ford can tell through downloads. These none downloaded, tapped ECU/fuel foolers have been detectable since mid 2000s.

My 6.0L had a tuner on it, I just can't bring myself to make that gamble on this one.

so now he will be out $19k and attorneys fees.

the only thing detectable is the higher fuel pressure, not that there was an module in line. Fuel pressure can be blamed on a lot of things is the dealer/Ford willing to pull and test each individual component maybe but highly unlikely.

If that's what you want to believe, so be it.

And on a major failure, yes I absolutely believe Ford will have the dealer connect their computer so they can read their files the dealer cant see.

Yep! That's exactly what I thought. As customers/consumers, we have a lot of rights within warranty law; however, you go away from stock and you're really opening yourself up.
