insulator bed pads

I am getting ready to paint my truck, after a quote of 6k++ to paint it. I have new bed bolts just in case I am unable to remove the old and have to cut them out. I have noticed there is a listed insulator pad that I am assuming is between the bed and the frame. Do these generally need replacing? Is it similar to body mounts? What is recommended pads to use? I know there are some poly for the body but unable to find these for the bed. Thanks

They are really thin plastic pads, I wouldn't worry about them. They shouldn't need replaced. Worst case scenario you could make them easily out of some sheet plastic. I certainly wouldn't pay Ford for replacements.

They are rubber. Thin like a inner tube. The typically are in perfect shape

Thanks Diesel Brad, I just about have the bed off, I could not believe that all the bed bolts unscrewed. Besides surface rust it is spotless under there, so grateful!!! I had more problems with three bolts that were from a 5th wheel receiver LOL. Hope I can get my buddy over to help pull it off tomorrow. It has a Roll-a-long rear bumper and welded plates to the frame with the tow hitch, I so wish it didn't so I could easily put a regular step bumper on it.

That is what I used to replace the missing insulators on my truck. A old bike inner tube.

They are there to keep the squeaks down when the bed and frame flexes. I finally had enough of that "cricket" and used a old inner tube. Over 8 years now with no more "cricket".

Sounds like good news. I didn't even bother trying to unbolt my bed bolts. I just hit 'em with an angle grinder. I bought new bed bolts from Ford. Good Lord are they expensive. The bed floor on my truck was so thin you could stab through it with a screw driver pretty much everywhere. Needless to say I replaced the bed.

So I have the bed off, it appears that these insulators are only on the middle area of the frame and only 4, is this correct or should there be insulators at the bed holes as well?
