Major HELP needed

I need to source an Camshaft Trust Plate for a '62 223 I6. AND I know the part is obsolete ... Does any one know of a source who may have one or an interchange part (one that will work as a replacement).

No Carpenter does not have one ... Neither does Mac's

Thanks in advance.

EAA-6269-B .. I-6 & Y Block Camshaft Thrust Plate / Obsolete

Ford Passenger Car/Truck: 1952/53 215 I-6 / 1954/64 223 I-6 / 1961/64 262 I-6 (truck only).

1954/62 Passenger Car 239/256/272/292/312 / 1954/64 truck 239/256/272/292.

RPN PARTS in Erie PA has 1 = 888-864-9305.

KLIMESH MOTOR SALES in Calmar IA has 5 = 563-562-3241.

There's 1 EAA-6269-B on ebay, but the application is for tractors. I don't have a tractor catalog, the seller obviously doesn't have any other catalog than a tractor catalog.

It's also expensive.

Are used ones any good? Not even sure what this part is honestly but I've got a 223 coming out of my 61 in the next month or so.

Thanks Number!

Called both shops. One is checking the warehouse and will be getting back to me and RPN is sending me a picture. They have the part listed as a Cam Thrust Washer, just want to make sure it's the plate and not the spacer that sits on the camshaft behind thrust plate.

And YES the one on ebay is VERY expensive I can have my machine shop make me one for cheaper than that.

As always you are a big help!!!

I don't know if a user would be any good or not.

Camshaft thrust plate shown as 6269 in lower pic:

Yes a used on is fine as long as it's not bent ... it simply keeps the camshaft from moving forward. Two nuts that hold it on (#20346-5 above) are torqued to 12-14 ft/lbs. Make sure you do not lose the half moon key (74175-S) ... they are a pain to source as well.

Again Thanks Number ... You are always a HUGE help!

Well if you can't (reasonably) source one elsewhere I can set about fetching mine a little sooner if you need it, provided it's in usable shape. I'm swapping in a V8. Motor still turns, it nearly sputtered to life last summer after pouring a little gas down the carb. Didn't do much else with it after that, just mucking around one afternoon.

I totally misunderstood what your post was- so I deleted my response. I was thinking of the little thrust washer between the timing gear and the camshaft. my bad.

I have a 223 that threw a rod that should still have that piece you are looking for on it. I can check tomorrow for you if you are interested in it. Lewis
