Hi guys, haven't been on in a while. Been cleaning up and getting things back in order in the wake of the hurricane. So the transmission in the '66 is the original 4 speed on the floor, dad always called it a granny 4 speed. I think it is a F18 is this correct? The truck came with a straight 6 cylinder. But dad swapped in a 302 when he got it back in '68 and it has had the 302/4 speed combo ever since. I have been thinking and I would like to keep the 4 speed trans in the truck. My problem is I have a late model 5.0 engine roller cam block that will be fuel injected to go in it. The older 302 blocks has the provision on the driver side where the clutch linkage pivot stud bolts to the block, the later roller blocks do not have this provision. Does anyone make a bracket that bolts on with the tranmission bellhousng bolts to allow the use of this setup? I have looked in the LMC and Dennis Carpenter parts book but they do not list anything like this. Please let me know where to look.

Two different 4 speed transmissions were offered in 1965/66:
The TRANS code will be found on the Warranty Plate.
N = New Process 435 / F = Warner T-18.
Ford didn't offer a 302 engine till 1969, it was only available in F100's, till 1975 when the F150's were introduced.
No 302 engine in a Ford F Series truck ever came with a 4 speed. 3 speed manual, or A/T only.
You are looking for a part that does not exist in a Ford parts catalog. So I doubt that Dennis Carpenter or lmc would offer it.
It's possible some speciality aftermarket company like Summit offers it, but that would be the only source.
Brainstorming, which for this ole timer is quite a task. Not aware of a clutch bracket for the 302ci with the T18, perhaps more knowledgeable member can advise. The threads on the pivot ball for 300ci block are different than the threads on the pivot ball for the 302ci. Not familiar with the later model blocks, would think there were be a threaded journal in the block to accept the pivot ball, if not, wonder if it would be possible to tap threads in the block to match threads for the 302ci pivot ball. Anyhow, had an urge to chime in.
Thanks guys! I didn't think Ford made a bracket like this for the 302 hence the reason why the provision is cast into the earlier blocks for the pivot stud. I was hoping maybe somewhere in the aftermarket someone would offer such a bracket for use with the later model blocks but I have yet to find one. The later 302/5.0 blocks do not have the boss cast on the block where the hole would need to be drilled and tapped so that leaves me with either finding an aftermarket bracket, fabbing up my own, or looking into converting over to a hyd. clutch setup. Thanks
Have you tried California Mustang? They used to carry quite a bit of strange stuff like that for guys updating their Mustangs and I know that was an issue with those guys putting 5.0 motors in and trying to keep the toploader.
Thanks modeleh for pointing me in the right direction! Found the bracket at California Pony Cars. They list it for use in earlier Mustangs with later model 5.0 engines without the pivot stud provision but it should work for my setup as well.
