None on my '18 Platinum either. Would be nice to have one, but I just use an LED light I keep under the back seat. Can't believe they cheaped out this much.
I get them free at Harbor Freight and use Velcro to hold them on need to remember to turn them off. In the 50's they had Mercury switches to control them... Bet that won't ever happen again.
I remember my 94 (i think) chevy silverado had a light that was on a cable that would reach all the way to the back of the truck. I had a hand crank to wind it back in. I guess since everyone has a cell phone with a flash light, there is not much of a need for it anymore. They save a buck where ever they can
I was hoping someone would tell be, "the plug is behind the brake booster, in a dummy receptical." Our Monterey had a plug in a dummy receptical, took a light from a junked mustang, and it worked perfectly.
BTW they haven't used mercury in the switches for a long time. My dad had a 69 Ford Galaxy, the under hood light failed. I got a replacement, and took the old one apart, it had a reed switch in it.
My '88 F150 has an underhood light, but neither my Dad's '11 nor my '17 have one. The same goes for the glovebox, my '88 has a light there, but neither of the other trucks do. My '17 does have a light in the console, but my Dad's truck doesn't, and my '88 doesn't have a console.
None for me since my 1999 Superduty. I missed it at 1st on my 2011 but with no trans dipstick, sealed AGM battery, no power steering pump, etc.... There is very little need to even go under there except to fill the washer fluid and when you change the oil.
My 85 150 Scab 8 ft bed XLT had an auto retracking reel and light under the hood that would reach all the way to the back. It also had rear wheel well liners. This was when the XLT was the top of the line truck!!
had a mercury switch controlled light on a previous vehicle and my parking space was on a slight incline. Took the mechanic a few weeks to figure out what was causing the battery drain.
