OK I need some help
This s weird ...simple but weird, my under the hood light is out.
I have done all the normal things...like two different lights....then I went to fuzes......ug....three is not ONE that calls out exactly what number the hood light is on....any ideas

Not sure what year truck you have, but in a 05 the hood light is on the same circuit as the instrument cluster, controlled by fuses f2-41 and f2-35

I'm not near my truck to look but isn't there a mercury switch in the plug or wiring under the hood so it goes on when we lift the hood?

Tim: maybe you can probe the back of the switch to see if it has power? then you could narrow it to the lamp switch -- just make sure you've opened a door 1st (usually the case since you release the hood lock from inside).

So After all these great ideas and realizing I know more about running the forum then finding out about elec on my truck....I started tearing into it....the "switch" once I got it a part is pretty cool.....well designed and very compact "tip & run" kind of thingy ....
a few things I learned when the interior lights fuze blows it does not mean the dome light will not come on when opening the door....that is what threw me big time ....very odd to me....I thought it comes on all is well.....so I am going to get a new switch just in case and try to take it apart again, took me ten minutes to take apart with out breaking it...then I will take a photo and post up ...so thanks guys...ya made me smarter
now I have another issues I will start a new thread for that one.
