Block drain plug stuck.
), but he's so bad that sometimes he hijacks his own threads!!!I'd do the SX as it comes, maybe some thread lock/sealer for good measure. I think I'd run counter to the crowd and use the fiber washer and some good thread lock/sealer on the drivers side too. After all, the whole point of putting these on is that they never come off. You can attach a hose to the nipples if back washing the block cavities is your gig. I drained fluid months after mine were put on and it came out FAST (nothing big was blocking the hole) and I got some minor casting sand in the coolant that came out. Then again I have a double-washed-block '07

Jack: you never mentioned we were going to have a party! Great, I get one thing right, and I have to stand in line behind your wife at a party, probably in New Jersey, so I can b*tch slap you (picture the scene in Airplane where the whole line of folks is going to "slap some sense" into the one gal...).
No Washer?! oh the horrors...
If I was going to use these for the coolant drain, and I haven’t for a good number of years due to the small orifice in the ball valve, I would use my Loctite 567 pipe thread sealing compound. I’ve used this for over 30 years now on all kinds of stuff and have mentioned it here before. It’s a high viscosity compound, and although Loctite brands it low adhesion, there have been many times any of my test guys have struggled trying to loosen fittings. It works on everything well, including some high pressure hydraulic threads that were hurt.
I have a large tube and for it’s a 25-30 year supply. If I’ve doing farm hydraulics, or natural gas fittings ‘cause that’s a bite in the tail leak, a small swipe goes on.
