If you’re referring to the emblem, remember the outside plastic is polished. Therefore I did not touch that part. If your referring to the booster, my opinion it looks like ***. I’ve done better.

Along with the mock up, executed bracket and SET in place to see how it will all lay out. I think my off the cuff hair brained idea will work well.
I was going to weld the back corner, but the 1/8” Steel is pretty rigid. I drilled 3 holes in the bottom for water drainage and painted it “hammered silver to go with the M/C.
Steve, I need to know what the distance needs to be from the push rod to the plunger (?) of the M/C, please.

You know that I picked up the same double diaphragm and MC from Prior that you did... so, for my old drum brakes, am I going to need this set up too?? I am not just playing stupid on this... I really am.. Did I dive into rocky water without checking the depth?
If your still running drums, I don’t think you’ll want to change your original differential valve. You’ll have to ask Steve.
I put discs on mine back in 1996. I was country when country wasn’t cool.
Actually, back then I was told it wouldn’t fit, so I had to try it and find out why. Now, “it’s a thing”. With much thanks to FTE, I’m learning what all I missed back then.

If you're not changing the configuration of the brakes themselves (not replacing the front drums for discs), then you don't need to change out the current Pressure Differential Valve that's already in place. Drums don't use proportioning --although the disc/drum brake valves contain other functions besides just a proportioning function.
However, if you're not changing out the front drums for discs but will be running a dual diaphragm booster, I can't guarantee that the brakes are going to be to your liking. This is a deviation from front discs, an Explorer MC and the dual diaphragm booster installed as a complete set.
My experience with all-wheel drums, a dual diaphragm brake booster and a 1.00" bore MC was that the brakes were super sensitive to the application of the brake pedal.
It my help some that the MC (if you're going to be using the '95 Explorer MC) has a 1/16" larger bore than what I originally had, to reduce some of the pressure output to the brakes through a powerful DD booster. Only time will tell how this will turn out on your application, if you're retaining front drums.
Paint is easy, even out of a rattle can. Once you learn the SDS and solvent reactions a trained monkey can do it. My green is an atoutomotive base coat that NEEDS a clear coat.
Enamel has different solvents in it and you have to wait 24 hours for cure and the solvents to disapate before adding another color.
Now, rule of thumb is 3 coats to cover. Sand metal, prime and sand until the standard of quality is reached. Final sand primer with 600. Wet preferably but there are situations water is not desirable. Like a vacuum booster where plugs have been removed and the tape didn’t stick well.
Wipe down final sand with grease and wax remover and wipe dry. The last is very critical. Clean clean clean. First coat of paint is a light coat for adhesion promoter so to say. Spray a test shot on a piece of paper. Once it is finger slick, you can drag your finger across it and it doesn’t stick to your finger your ready for your next medium wet coat. Spaying the same amount of paint on your first test shot. Finger slick, your ready for the next and hopefully last medium wet coat.
Weather it be clear or enamel wait a minimum 12 hours, wet sand with 1000 grit wet paper. Wait another 12 hours and the top layer you sanded off, the next layer is now green (not cured). I used medium and the fine grit buffing compound with 1000 grit paper and a rotary buffing wheel. Buff to a mirror finish.
I didn’t want to spend the 24 hours on my booster. Once I get done touching everything I’ll wipe it down with a rag that has furniture polish on it. It’s a dense wax.

Yes, I will be keeping my drums all the way around, and my hope is, that I end up with better brakes, as mine are mostly just "Slow Downs", not locking up, even on the dirt roads of Baja. My drums are good, and freshly turned within tolerances, and the shoes are new, and have been arced to the drums. They are adjusted to 3/4" pedal travel, mas o menos an RCH or two.
With the big winch in the bed, the steel gantry, and the 34" MT tires, my truck is a bit heavier than stock, as it tips 6230 lbs on the scales... I purchases a new/rebuilt '79 F350 DD booster, with the MC for it. I believe the MC has a 1.0625 in. dia piston...
We shall see if it will work as hoped, but not until after Christmas & New Years in Baja.
