A little off-topic, but I think I read somewhere on another thread in this forum that the BLIS will not work with a 5th wheel connected. Can anyone confirm that? I'm in the process of determining which options to add before ordering.

Thanks

And even a pull type trailer it will often shut off even if you keep setting it to stay on.
Not a biggy, just let her blink thrice and change lano's.

Where did you source the radar module and does also it require a bracket / mount? Part numbers would be great.

Also if you have the link to FORScan instructions to enable BLIS that would be great too.

Awesome post, going to add BLIS.

Halogen tail lamps come with either BLIS or no BLIS. I have a Lariat Value trim and it originally came with halogen non BLIS tail lamps. When I upgraded to the LED's I had to order and replace the rear wiring harness to support the rear LED's. If your planning on keeping the halogens then you should be fine. One quick way to see if you have all the wires needed will be to remove the black mirror trim piece on the inside of the door to expose the connector from the door to the tow mirror. If you have the 22 pin connector and wires in pin 13 & 20 you will be good to go. It will just be a matter of swapping the top mirror glass out on each mirror so you have the orange dot indicator and a using Forscan to code a few modules in order to get it to operate. You will have to run 2 wires inside your tow mirrors to get power to the led indicator. I took my truck to my local car stereo shop and they ran
the wires for me. It's a lot more economical than replacing each mirror that already has the wires. (about $750 ea. vs. $80 at the car stereo place). The top glass itself with BLIS will run about $75 ea. There is another forum user who can help you with giving you those values to change if you are familiar with using Forscan? I will be more than happy to assist as I just finished this project 2 weeks ago and it works as it should with no problems. I will try to send some photos when I get a chance for install.

Stroking2017,

Been putting together everything needed, tail lights, BLIS modules for tail lights, brackets, but need help.

My truck is a Lariat Ultimate, halogen taillights with 5th wheel prep. When I pull the tail lights I do not see the the wires for the BLIS in the existing tail light harness.

The parts guys said the easiest way would be to find a truck that has BLIS, halogen tail lights and look up the VIN to determine the correct harness.

Would be great if some can share their VIN that has BLIS with halogens so we can determine the correct wiring harness.

What was the part number for the LED + BLIS, just curious?

Thanks,
Roly

Strokin2017 I've never been more impressed by anything I've ever seen on this forum. I hope we have people with one half your skills and talent working on our nation's aircraft defense medical etc. I'm simply blown away. . Wherever you may be career wise I would encourage you to very aggressively seek to constantly upgrade until you find yourself at the top because that's where you belong.

I agree we really are spoiled with these mirrors. The blind spot mirrors on my 2015 F-350 are bigger than the regular mirrors on my daughter's Mustang (which you can't see blankety blank) it has a bad blind spot. I'm uncomfortable with her relying on it id rather see her head spin around and look. But I don't know....I'm old and this stuff is new to me.

I did an Led tail lamp conversion I first tried HC3Z-13A409-B Wire harness but it did not have wiring for the bed lights that my truck has, I then got HC3Z-13A409-A which worked. Both of these also have the pigtail for the center marker light which is nice as I added that too.

Brackets are HC3Z-14D189-C and HC3Z-14D189-D and you will also need (2) HC3Z-13410-B adaptors, these fill the hole in the bracket and convert the small led plug to the harness connector. I did not add BLIS but I can tell you that the modules are sold separately.

Fyi unless something has changed that I have not seen the turn signals and brake lights will not function after installing all the LED parts, I found a You tube video that showed how to move 2 wires and make it all work. I presume that there is a Forscan setting that might make it work with going through this but to my knowledge I have not come across anything as of yet.

To be honest the side blind spot mirrors work well....but there's been two times in the last month, just backing up, people just flying through parking lots, so I'm just trying to get it to work just for that BS !!

I needed a vehicle and took one off the lot "OR" I would have ordered it from the factory...maybe next time I will just walk and wait for an ordered truck. Not working yet, still trying.

Thanks,
Chuck

Quick update. Been researching Ford part numbers which Ford does not make easy. The trick seems to be to find a VIN number of a truck that is similar to your but has the missing option you wish to add. Looking up the VIN's window sticker is big help.

Still looking for the part number of the pigtail so you don't have to cut off the BLIS Led connector on the mirror, but I'm thinking that I'll need to wait for for the mirror to arrive before I can determine this part number. Unless someone has a close up picture of the 2 conductor connector used by the BLIS LED. Stoking2017 do you still have the connector for the BLIS LED, if so a couple close up pictures would be great.

I've identified the 22 pin connector ford uses to connect the mirror, should be able to just purchase the extra pins that are missing eliminating the need to cut the wires. Will post when I confirm.

Here is the list of part numbers, I have not confirmed them yet, only after I'm done will I know for sure.

The HC3Z13A409G harness should be for a SRW while HC3Z-13A409-A that rwilimo sahred is for a dually with the center light.

I am unsure if HC3Z13K371A and HC3Z13K371B are needed.

I'm confused. You have a Lariat Ultimate and you don't have BLIS and LED's? What year is your truck?
