Hey guys and gals, I have a 2017 f350 platnium and was just wondering if anyone else had any serious door alignment issues. All of my doors when picked up were pretty bad, belt molding alignment off, top sitting too deep, fender and hood were way off. Then on my door the paint around the door latch screws starting cracking on all of my doors. So I took it in and they fixed the paint issue and re aligned everything. However on the driver side the doors still are not acceptable in my opinion. The rear door top is about 3/8 inch too deep and bottom of door skin sticks out about 1/4 inch. The body shop mananger was real good and said that is all they could do before inducing any water or wind leaks. He said it has to be an issue with the cab being out of alignment. SO just wondering if anyone else had any similar issues, beyond aggravated with a 80k truck like this. Ill get some pics and post them up too.
I noticed this after hand washing my truck for the first time. I checked every panel thoroughly and everything is excellent except the passenger side door. I have a 17 F250 extended cab. The belt line is dropped down compared to the rear extended cab door and the gap at the bottom of the door is tight compared to the top of the door. Basically the door is sagging. Took it to the dealer and they made it a little better on the beltline but made is worse at the bottom front of the door where it meets the fender, made it stick out from the fender really bad. I ended up spending a half hour correcting the door myself, not hard to do but time consuming. You just have to play with the door and move it around to get it where your satisfied. I bought a gap gauge and used the driver's door as reference and kept moving the door until all the gaps/beltline are even.
Maybe it depends on the build dates. Mine was built 12/16, not sure when they started building the aluminum trucks but maybe the early trucks were the problematic/learning curve ones.
