The Santa Cruz beach, along the boardwalk and pier area, is long, wide, level (no dunes) and gently slopes to the water. But it will fill to capacity so you HAVE to get their early.
Family changed their minds, they don't want to go to the beach (too far away LOL) so we will be going to Shaver Lake instead. Still going to leave early though to get a good spot as I am sure we will not be the only ones with the idea to go there for the 4th.
I spent my days off grading a new driveway. Taking a break from housework for the 4th, trying to make plans with some extended family in reno/tahoe. Than on the 5th its back to yard work, neighbor wants to get a new fence up. Trying to save my week and a half left of vacation for the end of the year but its real tempting to take a few more days off.
Roger that. Today is the last day of June, and our next thread will be full of July 4th reminiscences. Everybody be safe this weekend! Don't want to lose any fingers anywhere!
Adding RV access, and I don't have to mow or water a driveway. Some day I want to put a shop building in the back as well. State approved me for some rebate money for removing my lawn as well so all wins.
I bought this place in 2012, and it has been a slow renovation. Started inside with gutting house to studs and running new electrical and plumbing, than reworked the floor plan a bit to add a second bath and bigger kitchen, once the house was all finished I went on to the backyard. Now that the back is mostly where I want it, I'm re-landscaping the front yard weeds and crabgrass into something a little nicer.
