Well, technically, (and I read this on the Internet, so I know it is true ) August is the hottest month, but I agree with Will, for us in the central valley May through October is pretty much all one heat wave.
My most sincere condolences. My wife and I are heat wimps; we start whining at about 80 or 85. Above that we turn into wet noodles. We're on the outer coast range, so we get a lot of on-shore influence, and we've gotten used to it. This morning, we bottomed out at 46, and we're still in the fog. We will be lucky to hit 65 today, and that's fine by me. I don't know how you central valley guys do it.

I know what you are saying, some of the coldest times That I've had have been in San Francisco or Eureka in the summer.
Went to see Despicable Me 3 today. Pretty good. Took the grand kids, they loved it.
As for the heat. I would move if I could, but there is no guarantee I would get section 8 in my new city of residence. And my friends are here, so I put up with the heat by staying indoors with the AC on whenever I can.
Happy day before Boom Boom day Nor Cal. Hope everyone has a safe holiday.

Setting up at the annual concert and fireworks (Anderson Explodes). My BSA Troop has a food and drinks booth as one of our big fundraisers for the year. Looks like it will be a long day.
It hasn't been bad. Mid 90's with a 15mph East wind. Temp is dropping as the sun is going down and are fingers are crossed for the wind to die off so we can launch the fireworks.
BTW, there is a stock car race and a Pam Tillis concert too.
Nope, the plans for going to the lake have been cancelled due to people who said they were going to go backing out last night, and leaving us with only one car (mine) for transportation. So, I will be taking the older kids to a local place to watch the fireworks tonight, and we will be having a BBQ at their house during the day.
I really wanted to do the Shaver lake thing because it is only going to be 85 up there they say.
