That's the same law firm that's been going after all of the diesel manufacturers. Their suit against Daimler (Mercedes) was dismissed. I expect Ford will be on their list soon as well
I thought I would report back on the issue with my transfer case. Within two days of getting the truck back from having the seal replaced, it started leaking again. Made an appointment and took it to the dealer. Their regional tech/engineer that helps with unique problems looked at it and recommended replacing the back half of the TC and the yoke that extends out to the drive shaft.
I wasn't a big fan of breaking apart a brand new transfer case and replacing parts so I called Ford. I spoke to customer service and let them know I wanted a new TC. The dealership backed me on this. A very nice woman from Ford that gets paid to tell people bad news, called to tell me I couldn't get new TC. Dealer ordered the parts and we wait.
Parts came in this week and the repair was completed today. I go to pick it up tomorrow. Owned the truck for 9 weeks and it has been back at the dealer for 4 weeks. Hopefully this is it.
make sure to drive it at highway speed, mine wouldn't leak till I got up to speed. They ended up replacing the whole TC. a bearing failed inside causing the tailshaft to woble destroying the seal repeatedly.
