Too much wrong to fix. Broken springs, differential going bad, leaky transmission, broken clutch springs, and rust....OMG the rust. Some of the suspension brackets are rusted through.
Bought it with 76k, it has 137k now. Apparently not driving it much gave the rust more time to work? dunno.
It's gonna be a great day to relax. Gotta look at my soon-to-be Ex's Kia this morning, she says it's stalled a couple times and she smelled burning rubber. Almost suggested that it may be her driving, but I left that one alone. It's probably nothing. Also going to install the 7-pin connector on the back of the Escape, and maybe pull the boat out of storage and give it a test run at Rush Lake.
Surgery on my wrist on Tuesday, so I can't use any anti-inflammatory meds until then, which is making my wrist and back harder to deal with.
Yeah, that's why I bought it, and the engine has been great. Throttle body gasket and a stuck spark plug in #2 has been it. Trouble with clutch, alternator, starter....the power steering lines and oil pan rusted thru. LOL
Tom, if that's your definition of relax, I'm curious to hear about what busy is. Good luck with the wrist...and the ex.
Good evening, everyone. Looks like the boat isn't gonna happen, ended up spending about 5 hours wiring in the 7-pin connector. I've never liked wiring.
Now to plug the trailer in and see if everything works. Damn them and their "smart" trailer wiring...this stupid thing shuts off all outputs unless it determines there's a trailer attached. I'm using the factory outputs for the lighting circuits, so hopefully the trailer lights work.
