Anybody get a PPEI transmission TCM file? I have not. I have only seen series updates to existing files. I am going to get a switch installed at PSE Houston soon. $55 for labor $65 for switch. Then when TCM is installed after a few weeks and no new updates, install the max SOTF file. Thats my plan today at least ha!
What did you get Kubota?
Anybody get a TCM file from PPEI yet?
Apparently I need to relearn the tranny but don't want to mess with it. Anybody have luck doing this an easy way?
Pleased with the quality of bds kit.
Top balljoint nuts seemed to break loose way to easy considering they get torqued to 120-ish
I was surprised how easy i got the dreaded 400ft lb track bar bolt loose. Jack handle and 3/4 drive breaker bar first try. I was nervous after hearing the horror stories. Everything was straight forward and simple.
So I thought i was going to have to air the tires down to get it out of the shop, as you can see it barely fit with that arm trimmed. If not for the immediate down hill slope after the shop slab the cab would not have fit thru the door. Sun roof comes in handy for checking clearance, LOL. My new garage is going to have an 8' door, looking forward to not puckering every time i pull in.
Ok, now i see what all the buzz about shocks are. Even these mid grade bds shocks are night and dayy difference over the factory ride, and the factory shocks were still in good shape, i would call them...Mushy.
I figured out why my tires have been feathering in the front. From the factory the alignment was way off, to the tune of 3/8" toe -in, thats right, not 3/16, 3/8"!!!! Its a wonder my tires have worn as good as they have. I got it as close to 1/16-1/8" as i could with my trusted tape measure for now, as well as straightened the steering wheel back by extending the drag link.
Adjusted my head lights down 3 turns, this was a little to low to i came back up 1 turn, seems very close to factory.
Truck drives great, feels like it did at stock height, only better with the new shocks. Before level i had 2-3/4" rake exactly. Now i have exactly 3/4", just what i wanted. Now if the damned tires would ever show up!
Makes the 35x11.50's look tiny....
Looking good so far buddy! I see nothing wrong with those last wheels. Looks sharp to me. On the tune, everything Josh says about the NGauge sound like it is the hot ticket. I would have it from Patriot already if it wasn't for my location and the annual inspections. I'm still considering it despite having to reinstall the DPF once a year for the looky loo....
Finally shipped, third times a charm!
Im totally satisfied with rhe ppei tuning but the lack of trans tune is frustrating, the temptation to male the switchbisngrowing, as a trans tune affects drivability quite a bit. Fingers crossed for the "coding issues" to be worked out asap.
Thanks for looking!
Does patriot offer dpf on tuning? Turning the egr off and fixong the timing makes a huge difference.
The lack of trans tuning would worry me in the long run. Not sure about DPF on tuning. I'll have to ask Josh on that one. I really want to go all out though. I have an ongoing DEF won't reset when refilled issue that would be resolved nicely by shutting it off...
I shot Josh a text about that and haven't heard back. He's buddies with the guys at Patriot so, if anyone would know, it would be him. I wonder if a lot of soot would build up in the EGR valve when it was holding closed and prevent proper opening when turned back on?

i kind of doubt it being on the hot side, and worst case...install a new or used valve in the future
