https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ffset-rub.html

Are you 100% sure you have no rubbing anywhere? I am trying to gain confidence on the +18 offset, as I want to avoid 0mm offset as I think it sticks out a bit too much for me.

Your help is appreciated!!

I have the exact same wheels as Kubota. Same size and offset. I was running the same 37 toyo RT. I had rubbing. you can see Kubotas rub. I had the same. I rubbed more on the driver side, especially the sway bar.
I think the rub was more due to the sway bar drops moving the bend of the bar to a different location. and the fact the axle was still pushed to the passenger side. I have a full Carli 2.5" system with the Carli track bar adjusted as short as possible. the axle is still off center about 1/2-3/4" to the passenger side
when I had the Readylift track bar relocation bracket with the stock track bar, the axle was perfectly centered.

This is great information. Just to be clear with the Carli 2.5" your front axle is to one side about 1//2" and with the Readylift it was centered? Can anybody give results for a BDS leveling kit? I bought my truck with a Rough Country leveling kit already installed and the axle is to one side about 1/2" or so, I want to correct that and was thinking about BDS.

Kubota, thanks so much for taking the pictures and clarifying things for me! This helps a lot to clarify the severity of the rub!! Might be something I can live with.

Kylant,
Thanks for the further input! I didn't realize that the Carli trackbar was not centering the axle perfectly like the Readylift relocation bracket does... I wonder if Carli knows this and is working to correct it.

So I am guessing NOT using the sway bar drop brackets helps against rubbing as Kubota's looks tucked up tight, and Kylant had worse rub with his dropped down. What does dropping the sway bar down fix? Risks to not using it?
Getting the axle centered also has to help against rub, I will need to ask Carli if they are working to fix this issue.

Thanks to the both of you!

Yes with Carli track bar, my axle is still about 1/2" to the passenger side. This is with the bar adjusted as short as possible.

I talked to Carli about the bar adjustment. I originally had it at their recommended setting length. They said on their shop truck that was the spec that worked. They told me to adjust it for my truck. I did, as short as possible. Still pushes the axle to the passenger side. I doubt they are changing the spec or shortening the bar

I ran my sway bar with and without the sway bar drops. I noticed no difference in truck performance. The rub was definitely more with the drops in place. I figured Carli had them for a reason, so I reinstalled them

No problem, I consider it no rubbing if i cant feel it in the wheel.
I consider rubbing like what i get on the radius arms of my 78 with 37's or before i trimmed the crash bars on my wife's f150.

Axle center would affect the sway bar rub, should have minal effect on radius arms.
My axle is within 1/4" of being centered with the bds bracket, best i can tell measuring by myself. I dont see the need for swap bar drops with the 2", i didnt forsee a problem with binding of the sway bar when installing the spacers just playing with suspension travel.

Feels like the torque is finally being utilized now. Shift pattern is similar to stock, Keeps you in high gear under low load situations, firm smooth shifts but not hard, i could stand them to be a little firmer, torque convertor is quicker to lockup in the lower gears, Im not sure but i believe lockup in 3rd and maybe second, i will pay more attention. Before normal driving I only noticed lockup late in 4th gear, even pulling a hill accelerating, which was extremely frustrating. Also there used to be an annoying lag, say coming down a hilll with exhaust brake on at ~40 mph, start back into it with minimal throttle and she would just hang there at 2500 rpm and i would be cussing shift you @!#$%. That seems to be improved.

Overall, crisp firm shifts, more efficient shift pattern and more tq convertor lockup. I will confirm if there is lockup in 2nd or 3rd now in normal driving.

Its too bad you cant tune the trans on a stock truck without tuning engine, this would be a huge improvement.

If it ever stops raining im going to set her on kill and give it a run, now that ive got some extra line pressure to hold the power
Great review. There is another thread that I read today and some guys said pretty much what you are saying which is great.

Kubota next time you get a chance, could you take a photo from the front/back or even both from a decent distance back to get a good look at how your tires look? Like even further back than this so you can see both tires at the same time and how they sit relative to the fenders.
