Badges look awesome! How hard were the front and rear to remove?
Front was easy. Remove the plastic shroud. Believe it was 13 plastic pop rivets. Then remove 8 10mm bolts on top, pull straight out on the chrome bar ends near the headlights, then use a flathead screwdriver to release the clips on the bottom.
Rear required a blow drier to get the two sided tape warm so it would separate. Used fishing line to get the edges moving out then used a pocket knife to get behind it with a beanie to keep from scratching the paint. Kept working it till I could get my fingers behind it to keep pressure on it while the blow dryer made quick work of the tape.

If I didn't have the fancy front camera, my badges would look just like Josh's now. Unfortunately, replacement Ford emblem for that area only comes with a new camera. Ugh..
That does look great Josh! Very nice touch indeed... I'm surprised at your weight. Lighter than I expected for sure. I'll have to head to the scales with mine on Monday to see where I'm at. My 2012 Super Cab was about 8400# without my 5ver hitch in.
You've motivated me. I'll be playing with badges very soon! You have a great looking truck. Love the color. That was my first choice, but I ended up with Shadow Black. I actually really like it, but our New England road salt makes it look like hell 100 yards down the road. Pretty sure this will be my most washed truck ever! But again, I love your truck.

I do not have a 17 yet so I am not sure but could you remove existing front Ford emblem from your truck, take it apart, have it painted, put back together and reinstall?
Josh said that the emblem is destroyed when being disassembled for painting...
Correct. You have to break the melted tabs to get them to separate for paint. When done painting, you glue them back together.
For someone wanting camera equipped emblems painted, I would buy a regular emblem, break it down, have it painted. Then when the painted parts came in, take yours off the truck, disassemble camera, break the emblem down and then go back with the painted pieces from the cheaper emblem. Only time it wouldn't work is if you wanted the chrome parts painted also.
That would keep you from buying the expensive camera emblem since the blue parts break down the same on both emblems. Here is a pic of the back of the camera emblem and regular emblem.
Cleaned it up and tried to get a shot of the emblems and badges in a single shot to capture the overall "look". I was nervous the paint wasn't matching. After a bath, everything is spot on! Going to have the bumpers painted and that will be it for paint mods!
