I bought some computer speakers this past week to upgrade my setup. The main computer's Altec Lansing speakers have served me well for the past 13 years, but got damaged in the move here. So I finally upgraded to a Logitech setup. Three times more power, and only three speakers (2 satellites, and a sub) compared to the 4 satellites and sub of the Altecs. They sound great. I wanted to buy another set of Altec Lansings, but apparently they only make speakers for iPods and tablets now. Also bought some cheap Logitech speakers for the laptop since I have been using the internal speakers, and they don't sound that good.
While I was at it, I picked up a keyboard with blue back lighting. Looks awesome. I bought a gamer mouse (basically just has more buttons then a regular one) with blue lighting as well. The main reason for the mouse and keyboard is because I want to move the laptop from the middle of the desk and put it on the computer stand I am currently using to hold up the TV and DVD/surround sound player with. I bought a wall mount for the TV and a "floating shelf" for the DVD/surround sound cable box and Xbox 360.
All this was bought the last 3 days of February, along with a refurbished Xbox One console (I bought refurbished because it came with 7 games compared to 1 if I bought new). Over the past week everything has arrived so far except the floating shelf. just waiting for that to get here so I can start setting everything up where I want it. Main reason for doing this is because the computer stand partially blocks the hall to the bathroom and bedroom, and I have to keep making sure I don't stub my toes on its legs. LOL
After putting a serious dent in my Amazon credit card, I check my bank balance on the first of the month and find out my VA check was not deposited. So I call the VA and at first they told me I owe them $2,000, and the monthly checks will be withheld to pay it off. I told them that is not possible, and that I have not received any letter from them telling me they were going to do this. After further verification as to who I am, she then tells me they did not send any letter, and there is no reason for my check to be suspended. She then tells me she will make an inquiry with the department that doles out the checks and gave me a reference number. She stated if nobody has called me regarding this in 7 days to call back and give that reference number. I am praying it is just a clerical error, and they got the wrong guy. I need that extra income, especially now that I put so much on my Amazon credit card. Most the stuff I can return, but the Xbox can't be returned unless it is defective, and it was the biggest purchase of the bunch. Luckily for me, the VA check only comprises about 10% of my monthly income, my SSDI check is my main bill paying check. And I still have $200 on my Capital One card I can live on until my SSDI check gets here, but I am trying not to use that because I don't want to max out a card needed for emergencies.
