Dang Curtis has put the idea of getting a raptor in my head-- I have found a few-- I really and truly do not need one-- and wifey would rather I not get one till I can pay cash for it-- SO I guess 2070 it is!
My biggest problem with the JT is the motor size-- it won't pull nothin. I can't imagine pulling your big camper with any motor smaller then a 4.0-- unless it was turbo'd
Looks like the JT is rated up to 7,650 lbs, our Yukon is rated at 8,100 lbs so it seems to be able to pull a decent amount. If we did get one, we would only pull the pop-up so it should have plenty of capacity for that. We likely will never pull the big camper too far from Marion, let alone out of state. It's kind of permanently residenced at the lake
Just looked up the specs on the 3.6 Pentastar and has 300 HP and 270 LB-FT of torque, more than what I would have guessed. That's nearly the same as early GM V8 LS engines, impressive they pulled that out of 6 cylinders!
I'm excited that the new Yukon design allows for a Duramax 3.0 diesel option starting next year. Not sure how many people buying a new Yukon will actually check that box, but it's neat that there should be a handful out there for sale. Still a hard sell though compared to the potent 6.2L since although the diesel will have about 40 more torque, it will have 150 less horsepower
Julie is test driving a car today, that she is narrowed down to the one she wants. Its a 2019 Ford Fusion. its a nice little car, and has everything she wants in one, except for Navigation. I have found that I can add that feature for about 300-500 dollars. I don't know if it is worth that much more to do it, but its a feature she wants.
Back Story: Last Friday Julie put an offer in on a 2019 fusion with a lady here in town through Marketplace. The lady accepted the offer, and we all shook on it. Turns out that she was our neighbor out at the campground over the July 4th weekend. Julie had some questions to ask, to expedite things, but the lady quit responding to text, and wouldn't answer phone calls and Julie didn't want to bother them while they camped. Then they lady finally texts back and said you have to deal with my husband. Her husband would not respond to texts or phone calls. So.. We walked away.
Now Julie found one just like it at a dealer, and she is trying to work a deal on one now. Hopefully she gets what she wants.
People are funny in a not humorous way. Why not just say we decided to do something different. I know a handshake should be a deal, but grow some and deal straight up with folks.
If its a ford it has sync- to her phone-- so the nav from her phone can come over the radio-- thus saving you 300-500$$$
I concur with Chad, may want to have her look at utilizing her phone navigation app. At least with Google Maps, it's updating 24/7 to find the best route and knows what stores\restaurants down the road are open to visit along our trips (and their ratings). It saved several hours in the past when there was a dead stop of traffic on Interstates due to road work or accidents and navigated us around the issue. It also updates for free, compared to most built-in navigation apps that cost $100+ every time you want to update the maps. Even then, who knows how old the information is that you just paid for.
I will admit it's nice on our Yukon to see the weather coming up on the navigation map, but other than that it's not even close to being as good as Google Maps.
Sort of, did more troubleshooting and it looks like it was the "freeze switch" that was the culprit. Pulled it out of the evaporator and the AC compressor quit shutting off on its own.
I have a new one on order, hopefully it will get here by this weekend before we go camping again. The upcoming weekend sure doesn't look like one we want to endure without AC!
