Off the top of my head, van has different front cover, different oil pan, and oil filter (remote).
The front cover will need to be swapped, one of the coolant ports is angled compared to a straight 90. The oil pan is significantly different, it was hitting the frame cross member, blocking it from sitting in. Beating on the oil pan and denting in did not work.
The remote oil filter was making contact with the front driveshaft, so that had to be swapped back to the truck version.
If it were me I would fix one and have it running 100% instead of having 2 that don't run.....but thats just my 02
LOL, obviously never my intent to have either one not work. The first one is more serious and I didn't have the money to fix it. So, I thought I'd use what money I had to do some maintenance to the second before I started using it to make money. Then, it wouldn't start after the maintenance.
Believe me, I know I messed up big time, but choosing which truck to work on wasn't the mistake.
The difference is in the tuning. I think at some point thru the years the van turbo may have been a mod of sorts. Seems like every 2 or 3 months a new fad begins and in 6 months they figure out it wasnt worth the time to do it. If you in the dfw area there is a guy that hashis own shop that is highly respected. He is also pretty busy. Mad matts.https://g.co/kgs/oQoTXo

Thanks, I'm beginning to think it'll be easier to just rebuild the motor I pull out. Matt does have a buncha great reviews. Not sure I need a "performance" shop though. I'll call him when I have my money together.
Pic is # 1 exhaust lifter. No lift needed to get engine out. Im working in the stepchild flat bay. It took about 14 hours to remove it, no im not flat rate. Had a little extra time because this one has a BPD remote oil cooler and had a few oil pain bolts round off on me.
Came out the front. Ive done a bunch of vans. Just be glad you don't have a limo bus with dual ac compressors and dual alts, they are worse. The lifter went quick, I got lucky, no bearings in low pressure oil pump. I had this engine out 4 years ago. Heads, studs, bored 0.20 over, new con rods etc. But guess who didn't do lifters.
