Ugly Tail Pipes

I recently purchased a new 2016 Ford F250 with a diesel engine. This vehicle did not come with the Chrome Package, therefore the exhaust tail pipes are a large set of ugly factory pipe exiting the truck. Does anyone know how I can spruce up this eyesore, short of replacing the complete unit with a Ford chrome pipes. (which appears means cutting and welding a new pipe on). Thinking of just spray painting them flat black, just to get rid of the rusted, corroded look.
Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Black high temp paint is my vote.

Remember, those tailpipes are a part of your emissions control system. Depending on your local laws, replacement of the pipes may cause your truck to fail inspection.

anyone on here done that? It may sound dumb but will rattle canning the tail pipe effect the truck to pass smog....?
