crossover pipe color?
I just recived my cross over pipe I bought from Dennis Carpenter. Its bare metal. I pretty sure it suppose to be black. If it is in fact suppose to be black then should I just go over to summit racing and pick up a can of black engine paint. By the wauy its a 1960 292 not that it should matter. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would imagine that what you got is what you get... it's just a piece of exhaust tubing right ?? can't imagine that it would be painted... I doubt that paint would stay for long anyhow.. you might try some high temp paint after you weld it in, but I'd clean it well with lacquer thinner and prepsolv before I painted it... bare metal usually has a fine oil film to retard rust...
