I've been on enough dinner dates that I've had to explain a few times that people who are allergic to onions don't eat French onion soup or borscht, liver and onions or steaks smothered in onions. Sometimes they need to have it explained that chives, green onions, baby onions are all the same to us. I've used the analogy that it's like offering walnuts to someone who says they're allergic to peanuts.

My wife likes beef while don`t mind it but I prefer pork.
I love beet borscht if it's not full of carrots, cabbage and onions.

Basically it's a beet type thick soup, the real good borscht has sour salt in it for that extra kick.
It's in the centre of the table.

The perogies must be in the handled container and the cabbage rolls to the right of that..

I could live on cabbage rolls and perogies...in fact as a kid I did.
