Good afternoon Shaun, Grant, Perry, Ian and all who lurk here.
No need to send any work leathers, I already have quite a few of my own.
It`s only -1°C but it`s sunny and calm so a nice day to be outside.
The check is in the mail, turned out to be a true saying today, was a pleasant surprise seeing an account receivable paying the 9 months balance in full. Had to go downtown to my account branch as the branch in this area doesn't accept deposits over 5k into another branches account. The TD in this area had an internal fraud problem and 9 years ago the staff got locked into the vault at opening time, 7years later the assistant manager got arrested for her involvement in it. Cloudy with humidity today but still warm.
Always nice to see a big cheque in the mail instead of bills.
I have been waiting for a mid sized account to come thru. While I know they will pay there is too many layers of office staff, someone is not doing their job.
I've been doing work for one of my neighbors the last couple of years Morris, the sons share the costs on the parents house and I've done work on their properties as well. It was easier all the way around to set up an account for them, I get steady monthly income during the off season and they don't drain the account getting work done. The parents thought it would be a good idea to wrap up the account as I've moved and must be broke and christmas is coming. Works for me, the mother met the mail lady at the mailbox so that she could put it in my old mail slot as she knows that I check the mailbox when I do my load ups. These little old Chinese ladies are pretty smart and get things done, pays to have a few of them on the home teams side. LOL
I've got to track down my accountant and unfortunately I may be getting bad news about her. She went through some major cancer surgery a few months back and was out for about 2 months going through the recovery phase. Her home phone# is call forwarded to her cell and I get her voicemail service, she hasn't returned my phone calls for about 6 weeks now. I hate leaving the " to whomever is monitoring this voicemail" message, it's as bad as getting a WWII telegram.
I've been doing work for this same account I`m waiting on for over 30 yrs, the problem is that this yr I changed business names and it`s thrown big wrench into their accounting system.
I admire Chinese people, they are pretty smart and pretty thrifty when they need to be.
My accountant passed away about two yrs ago which was quite a shock, she was my age!
It took a while to get another accountant that is good, the first certainly one wasn`t.
I've had Candace as my accountant since 05, the first 2 had to much of a get rich quick, scammer attitude, I don't like dealing with people that have kind of an act because you can always trust a scammer to be a scammer. Candace knows there's give and take and she's always made sure I gave enough in order for me to take what I need. She always likes the way I turn dimes into dollars. We're supposed to be sitting back with a bottle of Okanogan wine, touring the new place, figuring out what I can write off and figuring what I'm going to do with my brother, but I can't find her. She hated the old place and was really PO'd when I moved in from the acreage. When my old place went up for sale she let me know that the place wasn't worth burning down let alone buying it, worst housing investment is a duplex or a unit in a housing complex. She'd like this place as it looks like I must be doing 60k a year to live here.
Good accountants are hard to find, especially when the one you have is a good friend.
