It just smelled really bad even after being washed. The belly of this one had a ton of dirt in it too so I had to dig to find the oil drain valve. Still not feeling so good so I decided to take the day off. The bug is going around the shop and work is slow so not a big deal.
That is funny Hugh, but that bug is going around everywhere. I'll be glad when it goes away.
Got to take the truck out today, and ran like a charm. Fixed the problem with the new cigar lighter, and now I can use my GPS, it's the little things that seem to make me happy. Well back to work in the morning.
Just got in from the land. GO back out tomorrow. Got a Dr appointment Monday so after that do a few small things in the truck. Got to do a power steering pump and hose on the Jeep. Since rain is predicted most of next week, I try and get some stuff done here at the house.
Bob I know what you the little things. I just be glad to start using the truck again so I can stop using the Jeep for a truck
The wife and I talked and we bought this yesterday for our trips. It will also tow 4 wheels down behind the motorhome when we get one. Not a scratch on it and it still smells new. I tried to talk her into a Ford excursion or Harley truck but she was in love with this. We picked up the wood flooring yesterday too so I have my weekend project.
3 different vehicles this year and the yard is looking like a used car lot. 2 I paid cash for so not a big dent in the budget. I was going to trade in the Suburban but no way they would have given me anything close to what I would want. I will post it on Craigslist next week just in time for tax return time.
The Hummer is just a now and then and vacation vehicle and the wife will drive the 4runner for errands and shopping. Selling the Jag when I quit working. Oh yes I will most definitely have to have a diesel pusher now for that big boy.
The new wood floor has taken a turn as more work for me. They used cheap particle board as a sub floor so we are going to rip it out and put down 3/4 plywood with decking screws and liquid nails to keep it from squeaking. That also means new tile by the front door too. This has turned into a multi weekend project but going to look great when we are done.
Great looking Hummer, plenty of room for Little Man.
On the flooring, you may know this but you need to let the flooring set in the house about a week to dry to the houses humidity. Seen too many times people buy it, bring it home and install it. Two to three weeks later drys out a little, and gaps left, right, up, and down. Good luck.
I have the boxes open in the basement. The guy at the floor store who also does the floor installation says 24 hours and we are good. We got the old carpet up pretty quick and then the tile and backer board took forever. Back at it again tomorrow.
Getting ready to start pulling sub floor, install new 3/4 ply and hopefully start laying flooring this afternoon. I'm glad I talked my wife into getting rid of the tile but it sure was a chore getting it up.
Good news, The particle board is on top of a 1/2 sub floor and they used it as a filler. Now I just have to pull the particle board up. The other good news is they didn't glue it down so that makes it somewhat easier.
Sound like you been busy. I found a sink hole on the land yesterday buried the rt front to the axle. My neighbor here at the house went with me today to winch it out. We got out got all the chains and straps out, my neighbors son out there comes over to verify it was stuck. Then they say we go get our tractor and and help you get unstuck. Their tractor was a Ford workmaster 600.
Yes we have been very busy. This has to be the most un-level floor I have ever seen, there were places with 1/4 inch difference in height. The bad wood is up and we are laying down the 3/4 plywood. Still have to use a little floor level compound in a few spots but it's nothing like we would have had to have used. I see why they put down carpet.
